Day 1 Cairngorm Plateau, via Lurchers Crag
From the Cas car park at the ski centre, we head for the well marked trails taking us long the Northern Corries, a glaciated fault that has left the rocks exposed for us to marvel at. We then make the ascent up towards Lurchers crag before heading for a round of the corries. Once we have gained some height, the views down into Loch Avon are truly breathtaking. With this as our back drop for the next hour, we enjoy the beautiful flowers and animals that make this the unique area that is the Cairngorms Massif.

I spent a couple of days out with Stephen in the Cairngorms, specifically in the Northern Corries and to and around the Ryvon pass. It was a fabulous experience! Stephen is a knowledgeable, patient, and thoughtful guide, and I will certainly see if I can take another hike with him the next time I am in the area.

I would highly recommend Stephen and Scottish Rock and Water to anyone. I had a wonderful day out with him and a friend walking in the Cairngorms. He has a great sense of humour (which helped with the uphills!) and I felt completely at ease and had total trust in him taking us on the walks we did. It was a day I shall remember with great enjoyment and look forward to the next time. Thanks Stephen
