Who we are

Scottish Rock & Water was established by Stephen McCall in 2015, with the aim of sharing his passions for Scotland and what it has to offer.

Although his background is in commercial mechanics, he stumbled upon an opportunity to train and become a full-time instructor in 2008 and embarked on an eye-opening journey that changed the course of his life, taking him to the far reaches of this majestic country. Over ten years on there are still so many places still to explore, adventures to be had and people to share these awesome moments with.

"Our aim is to provide a world-class adventure to anyone wishing to explore the best of Scotland's wild places and the memories to be made there."

What people are saying

"My boyfriend and I had the best time scrambling across the Aonach Eagach ridge with Stephen. His experience and safety knowledge was the only reason we were able to do the ridge and he put all of our anxious thoughts at ease! Stephen was great for giving us advice and also reassured us with the tricky sections of the traverse. Couldn't have asked for more... and he was also great company! Would highly recommend to anyone."

Kirsty Wilson - Aonach Eagach

Excellent four day, three night experience. Beautiful scenery, expert and supportive guide and good mixture of exciting water and tranquil passages. Really impressed by the high quality offered by the trip - great advice, good kit and lots of fun. For relative novices with limited experience of canoeing, this was ideal for my teenage son and me in terms of safety, support and challenge. I would highly recommend this trip. Stephen is a really reassuring, knowledgeable and very personable guide. Five stars from me!

Stephen - River Spey Descent

Wow. I could not have asked for a better experience. Stephen is not only an excellent guide, he provides great photos and conversation. Also gave us sunny weather :) Thank you for giving me a wonderful memory and new friends.
