What do I need to bring?
  • A pair comfortable, waterproof walking boots or shoes

  • Quality, breathable waterproof jacket and trousers. Gore-tex or similar

  • Spare insulating layer

  • Walking socks

  • Walking trousers (synthetic materials; jeans or similar are not suitable)

  • Water bottle or flask

  • Rucksack 30-40 ltr

  • Hat & waterproof gloves

  • Lunch, plus a little spare food

  • Sunglasses & sun cream (you just never know!)

  • Waterproof case for phone i.e. zip-lock bag

  • Personal medications

Our improvised self-rescue for climbers course is designed to give you the knowledge of what to do when things aren't going according to plan. We're here to show you how to be prepared and give you the skills, knowledge and techniques that will give you confidence knowing if it doesn't go quite according to plan (which it inevitably doesn't at some point!) then you have the tools and knowledge to sort it out.

  • How to escape the system, to be able to get to an unconscious climber

  • Learn the skills to assess and select appropriate strategies and techniques to perform a rescue

  • How to attach to multi-point anchors with the rope

  • Retreating from climbs demonstrating the use of a variety of anchors

  • Learn the appropriate use of prussiks, how to ascend the rope
