The route

What the days on the ridge involve

Described as the sea kayaker's paradise, and for good reason. It offers an abundance of coastlines, islands and wildlife to explore. With its sheltered waters there are no real tidal concerns, so with calm conditions it can feel like you could paddle off the end of the earth! The trip is for 3 days , but it could easily be extended to 5 or even 6 days if exploring the other islands, all of which have a lot to offer.

"Sea Kayak the Summer Isles"

We had a great time with Liam, glad he had fun too. He’s a really nice guy, and the lads both LOVED talking about all their kit with him. They both said they would definitely want him to be their guide again. He’s very organised, gets everyone where they need to be when they need to be, and we got everything done that was planned. He knew exactly when bad weather was coming and we got off the water exactly before the winds got up, his timing was perfect. He was brilliant when I got a bit stuck with the strong wind and needed a hand, and was very nice about it. I knew I didn’t know much about kayaking (can just about identify ‘paddle’ and ‘kayak’, lol )and he very patiently taught me loads about the basics as we were going along which really helped. Please say thanks for me. Thanks for the amazing food, it was so nice to be cooked for, please give my compliments to the flapjack maker! They were great. The onion chutney was also amazing. I didn’t realise it was supposed to last 3 days and had wayy too much, sorry everyone! ;0) (but it was amazing). I know we are probably supposed to come up with something that would be an ‘even better if...’ type thing, but I can’t really thing of anything. It was a lovely 3 days. I guess the only thing would have been having some milk and sugar, or maybe just letting us know we needed to bring some, as Paul and I normally drink a lot of tea and coffee, but actually we were ok without it. None of us had done sea kayaking before, and we travelled far further than we thought we could and learned loads. He also took loads of great photos without anyone noticing, and that was lovely too. Fab trip, thanks to everyone, seen and unseen, for giving us a very much needed break. Thanks for arranging the whale too! ;0) 🐋
