Skye touches anyone's heart that has spent any time here, with its alpine style ridges, sharp pinnacles, exposure and committing days out it provides a majestic natural playground for climbing and scrambling. With the rough basalt rock, it's a delight to scramble on, providing confidence underfoot once some coaching has been applied. After a great day in the mountains, the island also does some fantastic ales!

What do I need to bring?
A pair of stiff comfortable, waterproof walking boots
Quality, breathable waterproof jacket and trousers. Gore-tex or similar
Spare insulating layer
Walking trousers (synthetic materials; jeans or similar are not suitable)
Water bottle or flask
Rucksack 30-40 ltr
Hat & waterproof gloves
Lunch, plus a little spare food
Sunglasses & sun cream (you just never know!)
Waterproof case for phone i.e. zip-lock bag
